Navigating the Terminal
Overview
The Terminal is not the typical trading platform interface — it's a unique blend of innovation, aesthetics, and functionality that sets it apart from the norm. It has been meticulously engineered to be visually appealing while also delivering an interactive and engaging user experience. Moreover, it offers a high degree of customization, allowing users to tailor the interface according to their preferences.
The Desktop
The interface of the Terminal is referred to as a desktop. You can think of it as a configurable workspace. Nefster subscribers get three desktops, which they can quickly switch between for more powerful usage of the system, while a regular user has one. The upper part of the desktop is composed of panels that house the user's selected widgets, and the lower part is a tray where widgets can be placed as tabs.
Widgets
Widgets are the building blocks of the Terminal. They are akin to mini-applications that users can select and position on their desktop. Whether you want to craft an NFT trade, chat with other users, or manage your digital assets, there's a widget for that.
Each widget also comes equipped with standard functions including reload, widget-specific settings, and "about" information. These functions can be accessed through the menu icon located in a panel widget's header bar or a tray widget's tab.
Panels
Panels occupy the upper part of a desktop and can be configured as a 3x2 or 2x2 grid.
Positioning: Widgets can be moved around via drag-drop, enabling users to rearrange their interface in a simple and intuitive fashion. A widget can also be dragged from the Terminal Tray and dropped into a blank panel.
Resizing: Grabbing a widget's border allows it to be resized, with the other widgets on the desktop automatically adjusting to the new dimensions. You can give more screen real estate to widgets you're actively using, and make those you just want to keep an eye on smaller. There's even a full-screen mode for when you need to really do some work.
Quick Controls: Each widget has a header bar that houses quick controls. These allow users to maximize, minimize, or equalize the widget on the desktop, providing convenient one-click resizing.
Widget Selection: In the settings menu, accessible from its icon in the upper right corner of the system, users can choose which widgets to display in panels. Or from a blank panel, the plus icon can be clicked to bring up a streamlined widget selection menu.
The Terminal Tray
The Terminal Tray sits underneath the panels and can be resized as needed - for example, if you need data from panel widgets while creating a trade in a tray widget, size them so you don't have to keep adjusting the desktop.
Tab Interface: Unlike panels, the Terminal Tray uses a tab paradigm that displays just the selected widget. This gives its contents the entire width of the desktop, which can be useful in many situations, especially for widgets that benefit from a horizontal orientation.
Tray Quick Controls: Similar to panel widgets, the quick controls of the Terminal Tray have you a single click away from preset resizings, including maximize, minimize, and previous size.
Adding and Removing Widgets: You can add widgets to the Tray using the plus icon next to the last tab. Widgets can also be drag-dropped into the Tray from a panel. Click the x icon on a tab to remove the widget, or drag-drop the tab into a blank panel to relocate it.
