Drag & Drop

Dynamic Widget Updating with Drag & Drop

A key feature of the Terminal is its drag-and-drop functionality (sometimes referred to as drag-drop or D&D), which leverages the interface's inherent modular and multi-dimensional nature. D&D turbocharges the user experience with interactivity and intuitiveness, not to mention how much faster say drag-dropping a profile picture is than typing 42 characters.

How it Works

For User Profile Images

Many widgets are designed to dynamically update their content based on user profile. Instead of manually searching or inputting data, you can simply:

  1. Drag the user profile image from a widget.
  2. Drop it onto another widget.
  3. The target widget will automatically refresh and display information related to the drag-dropped profile.

For NFTs

Certain widgets can have NFTs dropped into them, significantly boosting the time to perform an action:

  1. Drag the NFT from a widget.
  2. Drop it into the receiving widget.
  3. The NFT will appear in the receiving widget, to be traded or talked about or something else depending on the widget.

For News

News items can be shared with others by drag-dropping the link icon (the one with the diagonal arrow in a box) into Direct Messages or Group Messages:

  1. Open up a news item to its detailed view by clicking on it.
  2. Drag the link icon in the bottom right corner.
  3. Drop it into a messaging widget.
  4. The news item appears in the messaging widget. Add a message if you'd like, and you're ready to send.

Widgets that Support Drag-and-Drop

Most widgets support some form of D&D. Whether you're looking to view a user's NFT collection, send someone a fascinating piece of news, or add an NFT to a trade, go ahead, just drag, drop, and discover!
