Create & Manage Rooms
Creating a New Room
- Accessing Group Messages: Navigate to the Terminal. If Group Messages isn't there, add it through the Terminal Settings icon located at the top right corner or the widget selection dialog available in a blank panel.
- Initiating Room Creation: In Group Messages, click on the plus icon adjacent to the search box. This action will reveal the ADD NEW GROUP ROOM interface.
- Entering Room Details:
- Group Name: Assign a unique name to the room. The system will alert you if the chosen name is already in use.
- NFT Contract Address: This field is optional. If you are creating a NFT-bound room, specify the address of the NFT collection to associate with the room. Otherwise, leave this field blank.
- Token ID: This field is optional. If you are creating a NFT-bound room and the NFT collection follows the ERC1155 specification, you'll also need to provide the token ID. Otherwise, leave this field blank.
- Room Icon: Click on the placeholder image to upload an icon for the room.
- Finalizing Room Creation: Click ADD to create the room. As its creator, you'll automatically join the room as both a Member and a Moderator. The new room will appear at the top of your room list.
Managing a Room
Group Messages offers a number of room management features under its Manage menu:
- Invitations: View rooms you've been invited to. NFT-bound rooms will display the required NFT collection's name and address. You can accept or decline invitations.
- Sent Invites: Monitor invitations you've sent to other users. This section displays the room name, username, room icon, and user's profile picture. You also have the option to rescind any sent invites.
- Rooms
- Edit: Access the list of rooms you've created. You can change the room's icon or permanently delete the room.
- Management: View rooms you've joined and see member counts. You also have the option of leaving a room.
- Members: For rooms you've created, view member lists. Selecting a member displays their details, including their role (Member or Moderator), wallet address, join date, and last active date. You can also make a member a Moderator or remove them from the room. (As a reminder, Moderators can invite new users and remove existing ones.)
