Group Messages

Nefster's Group Messaging Capabilities

Users can create and manage both public and private group chat rooms. There are three types of rooms available:

  1. Private room
  2. Public NFT room
  3. Private NFT room

Private rooms

Private rooms operate on an invitation-only basis. The creator and designated moderators have the ability to invite users to join.

Public NFT rooms

Public NFT rooms are open to Nefster users who possess at least one NFT from the collection associated with the room.

Upon creating a public NFT room, you'll need to specify the collection address. Only users with an NFT from that particular collection will be able to join.

To join a public NFT room, click the NFT Rooms icon in the left sidebar of Group Messages to reveal a panel listing public rooms tied to NFT collections. If you possess an NFT from a collection, you're eligible to join the room associated with it. After joining, the room will be added to your room list.

Private NFT rooms

Private NFT rooms function similarly to public NFT rooms but with an added layer of exclusivity — they are invitation-only. This means that only the room creator or designated moderators can invite other users to join.

An invitation alone isn't sufficient though. To be able to access the room, an invited user must also possess an NFT from the collection specified in the room's creation.

NFT-bound room access

For any room that's associated with an NFT collection (i.e. a public or private NFT room), access always depends on owning at least one NFT from that collection. If you're part of an NFT-bound room and subsequently transfer all your NFTs from the associated collection, you'll automatically be removed from the room.
